To prevent the Coronavirus from further spreading CRV implements several actions. This is done in alignment with the recommendations of the local governments in the countries where CRV is present. Our field staff will continue servicing the farms where this is allowed by the local authorities and the safety of the CRV- and farming staff is not undermined.
All global CRV staff minimizes personal contact and takes hygienic measures into account like:
Wash hands with soap regularly
Cough and sneeze on the inside of the elbow
Use paper handkerchiefs
CRV Czech Republic received the Animal Tech 2019 gold medal with the entry of HerdOptimizer. With this, CRV wins the gold medal for the second time in a row. Out of thirty entries, 18 were nominated, with CRV winning the first prize. The prize was presented by the Minister of Agriculture Miroslav Toman and Jiří Kuliš, CEO of Trade Fairs Brno at the National Animal Fair in Brno (Czech Republic).

Analysis of the performance of cows in the herd of producer Troels Bjørn located in Hobro, Denmark shows that using breeding indexes for health and efficiency pays off. Leading cows on the Better Life Efficiency index, developed by breeding organisation CRV, produced over 1,500kg more milk compared to their herd mates. The top cows for the Better Life Health index were significantly healthier. They showed less cases of mastitis, a lower somatic cell count and a shorter calving interval.

The April 2018 index run shows that the new NVI calculations, which are a better fit with the wishes of Dutch and Flemish cattle farmers, have impacted favourably on the rankings of CRV bulls. Many bulls boast outstanding production figures, with the high components currently in great demand.

The April index run demonstrates CRV’s progress in breeding for efficient cows with great longevity. Mint, Dax, Worldcup and Hongkong PP are amazing bulls for Fleckvieh breeders who want to utilise the full potential of their farms’ production capacity.
